Military Service: Two Out of Three Mark Interest Zero

Two out of three young people who filled in the military-service questionnaire in the second quarter marked zero on a scale to ten when asked about their interest.

They probably did not do that from a lack of responsibility.

They did it from a wish for human politics.

They would rather see peace missions than combat missions.

I think young people want honesty and a degree of selflessness in politics, not lies and corruption.

Young people have enormous potential. MENSCHLICHE WELT encourages them to unfold their full potential: physical, mental and spiritual abilities.

When we practise those abilities, we can take responsibility and help shape honest, sensible, selfless politics. Politics needs people who want to serve sincerely.

At the same time MENSCHLICHE WELT offers paths to develop that potential in practice. Young people learn there to think clearly, act ethically and put the common good before egoism.

The figures from the questionnaire remain a clear signal from the young generation to politics.

Interest zero opens space for young people to put their potential into peace and human politics. Rejection can become participation when politics answers honestly and selflessly.
